|The firm of Francis C. Klein and Associates
has specialized in
architectural design and planning for residential, commercial, industrial, health service, and institutional
clients, primarily in the greater New York area. Mr. Klein has been involved in the designs of social service
agencies, parks buildings, factories, warehouses, stores, offices and homes. His architectural services include
feasibility studies, site selection, cost analysis, planning, and building design. Mr. Klein is a member of the
American Institute of Architects and is a licensed architect and planner in the State of New Jersey. He is also
LEEDŽ certified (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) by the U.S. Green
Prior to forming his own firm, Mr. Klein worked as a staff architect for I.M. Pei and Partners, New York, N.Y., on the Augusta Civic Center and the Indiana University Museum of Fine Arts. He also worked as project architect for James S. Polshek and Partners, New York, N.Y., on the Rochester Convention Center, which won a First Award from "Progressive Architecture", and as a project manager for William M. Bodouva and Associates, on Garden State Plaza, Bloomingdale's, J. C. Penney, Newark Airport, Stewart Airport, The Port Authority Bus Terminal, and Journal Square Plaza. In addition, Mr. Klein has taught architecture at Yale University. In New Jersey, Mr. Klein was an Associate at the firm of DW Associates, in Montclair.
The work of Francis C. Klein and Associates has been featured in the Home section of the New York Times, House Beautiful, Family Circle's Decorating and Remodelling, Parents Magazine, New Jersey Monthly, the Newark Star Ledger, Old House Journal, Period Homes Showhouses, and At Home With Books. He received the 1988 Award for Design Excellence in the Built Environment, from the Newark Suburban Chapter of the New Jersey Society of Architects. His residential work was featured in the 1997 Show House of the Junior League of Montclair.
