Reference for Francis Klein, Architect
Beginning in the fall of 1982 Fran Klein designed a combination kitchen and family room addition to our horne.
Fran succeeded in taking our goals and a large number of existing constraints and translating them into a functional and architecturally interesting space. This bright and airy room has become the focus of our family living.
Because Fran is intelligent, thoughtful, and meticulous, we found the design process interesting and exciting. Fran responded to our questions promptly and produced drawings and spcifications on schedule. He urgedus to finalize as much of the plan as possible during the design phase, knowing that he would not be present during construction. As a result, there were very few changes in the plans during construction, few questions from the contractors, and the construction went extraordinarily smoothly.
From the outside the 12'x20' addition is attractive and blends comfortably with the style of our 1950's garrison colonial. From the inside the cathedral ceiling, skylights and medium blue interior wall with windows that rises from 7' to approximately 15' is far more interesting. Fran integrated the interior of the new with the old through the style of windows, wood floors and trim. We have been very, very pleased with the results.
